Description

Being widely admired in many good wood shops, the Panhans has excellent torsion resistance and low vibration levels together with plenty of foot-space that allows you to work close to your workpiece.

As well as solid timber, it can also be used for other sheet materials such as laminates and plastics/acrylics.

The machine is complimented with a crosscut blade and rip blade, but members may also use their own blades - also available from our shop.

This Panel Saw is accessible to all members who have passed an assessment for it and is one of the shared access woodwork machines.

Training/Assessments

All training/assessments are to ensure that you are using the machines safely and correctly, overall.

You will be taught how to turn the machines on/off, location of emergency stop, and all safety measures & ground rules for each machine.

Things you will learn in this training:

- Blade selection for different materials

- Blade change and set up

- Correct use of the sliding table

- Setting the machine to perform cross cuts, rip cuts, repetitive incremental cuts, and bevelled cuts

If you already know how to use the machine, be sure to book an assessment before use. The assessments are put in place for everyone's benefit, so our technicians can oversee that you will use the machines correctly, but most importantly, safely!
