Description

The basic design of this turreted knee mill dates back to the late 1930s, when it was introduced by the Bridgeport Machines Co. of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Incorporating an innovative turret and swivelling ram, the Series 1 was quickly recognised as the most versatile milling machine of its day.

The Bridgeport Series 1 manual milling machine is a specially designed vertical milling machine forming part of a totally integrated package of milling machine and control dedicated to the requirements of operation.

Includes power feed in X and Z axis and a selection of tools.

Materials that can be used on this machine: Any metals or plastics (no glass-filled).

Training/Assessments

All training/assessments are to ensure that you are using the machines safely and correctly, overall.

You will be taught how to turn the machines on/off, location of emergency stop, and all safety measures & ground rules for each machine.

Things you will learn in this training:

- Basics of cutter selection

- End milling and pocket milling

- Drilling & tapping

- Squaring of the head and vice

- Settings for boring system

If you already know how to use the machine, be sure to book an assessment before use. The assessments are put in place for everyone's benefit, so our technicians can oversee that you will use the machines correctly, but most importantly, safely!
