INTRODUCTION TO PAPER SCULPTURE
Tutor: Dan Maier

Dan Maier will introduce you to some of the principles of cutting, folding and manipulating paper with gratifying results. Using nature as our inspiration we will create foliage and floral pieces which can be used for wall decor, table decoration, or 3D artwork that can be box-framed. These techniques can be developed further to create your own designs both during and after the session.
Suitable for adults from 16+ who have some experience of using a craft knife.
Dan Maier graduated from Central St Martins in Textiles but her career has involved working in numerous media, both on intricate and enormous scales. She’s created artwork for window displays, cruise liners and West End theatres, as well as selling her designs to Liberty, Harvey Nichols and around the world. Recent projects include her illuminated artwork for the iconic Southgate Station, the Southgate art crossing, the 8 metre diameter fabric UFO for Burnaboy’s world tour and a 15 metre hawk for the 50-year UAE celebration in Dubai. When she’s not burning the midnight oil on commissions, she loves sharing her wealth of knowledge and the joyful and therapeutic elements of making.
