Biesse Rover K FT

This 4-axis machine, with a a 14 head fast-change tool magazine, and some very powerful vacuums, has some easy to use and very clever software that really does put some superb technology in your hands. The Biesse Rover K Series is actually a time-machine. In a single afternoon it will save you days of production time with a level of precision and accuracy that just makes life simple.

By providing this machine and training to use it we continue to fulfil our mission, to provide the very best possible making resources in a cost effective way.

We offer two courses that are taught one-to-one and take place once a week over two sessions – Tuesdays 12:00 - 16:00 and Wednesdays 10:00 – 14:00.

Training

Learn how to:

  • Prepare CAD files for cutting
  • Import and manipulate DXF files
  • Create and assign tool paths
  • Set and operate the machine

This means that you’ll be able to cut sheet materials to size, and able to pocket, mill and drill workpieces.

Once completed you will be able to book the machine by the hour. It’s a complex bit of kit so for your first 8 bookings we ask that you book only between 08:00 and 16:00 on weekdays. This way we’ll be on hand to help you with any set-up, tooling changes, and questions. During this phase of getting to know the machine, its important that you book to start no later that 14:00

Once you’ve completed 8 bookings, we do a review with you to decide if ready to book outside of supported hours.

If you need to use tool that is not in our standard magazine, we can arrange to fit a tool for you. Available supported hours only. A fee of £10 per tool applies.

Advanced Training

Become proficient in:

  • Creation of tool profiles and settings
  • Import of DXF tool profiles and construction
  • Advanced tool manipulation and path setting

Completing this course will enable you to use more of the machine’s potential and not have to rely on support for changing tools.

Eligibility

To do Training you must be a confident user of a CAD package and be able to produce DXF format files. You need to be able to produce cut files, know how to manipulate drawings, and be able to use layers. You must also have enough technical knowledge of this process or similar technical processes or have extensive experience of making using machines and materials.

To do Advanced Training you must have completed 8 bookings minimum. You must have demonstrated sufficient technical proficiency and have the confidence of the BloQs Team. This is because the course necessarily means being granted access to parts of the machine and its operating system which come with a very substantially increased potential for risk.

If you’re at all unsure if you qualify for either course, or you have any further questions, please call us and we’ll be happy to help.
