Building BloQs Marketing Manager

The Package

  • Location: Onsite at N18 3QT, near Tottenham / Meridian Water

Marketing Manager Role Overview

We need an enthusiastic marketing manager to join our tight knit, friendly team. The position will work in unison with our founders and operations manager to plan, develop and implement our content strategy. The role will be responsible for the creation and production our marketing content. You'll be our brand guardian and responsible for championing & leveraging our community of makers, online & offline.

  • We’re looking for a someone who's digitally savvy and enjoys keeping up to date with all the latest trends - you'll need to know your Instagram Grids from your Tik Tok Vids!
  • Lead on all organic marketing across the website, social + email
  • You’ll need to be comfortable collecting & curating organic content from around our workshop (Eg. taking regular photos + videos, interviewing members, and editing short video clips for use on social)
  • Copywriting will play a big part of this role, from newsletters & blogs, to social posts and press – we’ll need you to have strong writing skills to help tell our story and bring our brand to life.
  • Update & enhance website content
  • Build + maintain an email marketing calendar (to service both members + prospects)
  • Create + manage content calendars for all social media channels
  • Regularly engage with our community + industry influencers through social media channels
  • Work closely with Directors + our Marketing Agency on paid search + social campaigns (plus any other relevant marketing activity)
  • Work with Directors + our Marketing Agency to build long term marketing strategies + ensure we deliver against marketing objectives
  • Be comfortable working on design platforms such as Canva to create assets on the go
  • Attend key events in the BloQs calendar including industry conferences, school visits and member socials
  • Be comfortable chatting to members to build strong connections with our maker community

The Must Haves

  • Friendly, confident attitude - you’ll need to be proactive, and not afraid to ask questions
  • Excellent social skills - you’ll be required to regularly talk to members + prospects face to face and virtually
  • Relevant experience in digital marketing + content creation
  • An understanding of our core audience - “Professional Makers” 
  • An enthusiasm + passion for what BloQs is all about
  • You’ll need to be a team player, adapting for the team + communicating effectively
  • A strong sense of imagination + creativity 

The Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of paid advertising 
  • Videography film or editing skills (Mainly for social media)
  • Photoshop or Canva skills
  • Experience of planning + hosting events
  • Experience working within a CRM system (We use Zoho)
  • Experience working within a CMS (We use Wordpress + Umbraco)
  • Understanding of Google Analytics
  • Understanding of SEO & PPC

Role Overview 

Our Front of House Team are responsible for giving a warm and friendly welcome to our members, visitors, and guests. They answer queries, deal with bookings & payments, make sure people feel at home, and can find whatever it is they need.  

The Team are also responsible for sales and care of our hardware and materials shop that adjoins reception. The team have light admin duties and also play an important role in caring for our sales pipeline with call backs and facilitating potential new members. 

The Team consists of this full-time position and 2 or 3 part-time Team Members. Supported by the Business Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with our marketing team, membership manager, floor manager, and our technicians to ensure our members enjoy the best experience.  

The main responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Welcoming and directing members according to their bookings 
  • Fielding e-mail, phone, and face-to-face enquiries 
  • Handling bookings, payments, cancellations, or adjustments 
  • Call back for people interested in joining 
  • Assisting customer in our shop and making sales 
  • Procurement of shop stock, stationary, cleaning material and workshop items 
  • Receiving post and parcels 
  • Light administrative tasks 
  • Other tasks that can reasonably expected of the post holder 

The Must Haves 

A warm and friendly disposition with excellent customer service skills 

A polite communication and phone manner 

Be able to prioritise and stay calm when things get busy! 

Be able to pay attention to detail and have excellent organisational skills 

A track record of customer facing roles 

A track record of sales skills – preferably in membership &/or retail 

A team player, adapting for the team + communicating effectively 

A sense of responsibility and pride in a job well done 

Be very good at learning and using systems, internet and office programs

Salary: £30,000 plus bonus scheme  

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday – potential for weekend overtime

Role Overview 

We are looking for a creative, experienced, and passionate professional for a hands-on head chef role in our gleaming, brand-new café. 

This is the perfect role for an enthusiastic, skilled, and organised chef who wants to be part of a motivated team right at the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We are growing and transferring into a purpose-built new home and the café/kitchen space will create the perfect platform for someone wants to make their own mark celebrating great food.  

We serve breakfast and lunch Monday to Saturday alongside a deli area with homemade food, and a range of carefully chosen products. Hours are daytime to begin with, but we are ambitious for the café to become a destination. The space is ideal for hosting community & cultural events, parties, supper clubs, and weddings and the ideal candidate will want to grow and promote this side of the business.  

We want to meet you if you relish food, love how good it makes people feel, and you want to help us to develop the kitchen into something truly brilliant. We are offering real opportunities and solid support to expand the menus, the offering in general, make a splash growing the evening and weekend trade, and build a reputation. 

You might already be a head chef, but we’re also interested to meet you if you’re wanting to take the next step and head you own kitchen.  

The main responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Design and plan menus 
  • Plan and manage the weekly kitchen rota 
  • Recruiting & train kitchen team based on business needs 
  • Manage daily & weekly ordering from suppliers according to demand 
  • Manage the food preparation and stock levels for service 
  • Prepare, store, and serve all food in accordance with regulation 
  • Keep impeccable records and maintain our 5-star hygiene rating 
  • Taking pride ensuring the kitchen is consistently clean and organised 
  • Work closely with the General Manager 
  • Any other duties that can reasonably expected of the role holder

  • Be passionate about food and new food trends  
  • Cook fresh food from scratch, using the freshest ingredients  
  • Exceptional presentation skills   
  • Striving to improve skills and knowledge

  • Maintaining a calm behaviour in stressful situations
